Different types of Accounts in details serve different operational purposes from warehouses and distribution partners to artist tour stock or label shops. This article gives you a quick overview of the most common account setups, their required settings, and what to keep in mind.
A Stock Account represents your warehouse or a physical location from which goods are shipped to partners. You must have at least one stock account to start creating distribution orders.
- Go to DISTRIBUTION / ACCOUNTS and click [+] to create a new account.
- Enter Name, select Channel (Physical or Digital), define Invoice Project and Currency, then confirm with [OK].
- In the OVERVIEW tab, link your Invoice and Delivery Addresses.
- Switch to the SETUP tab and activate [Stock Account].
- Once saved, you can start creating Distribution Orders.
A Warehouse Account is used when you manage your own inventory directly within details. It allows you to include your warehouse stock in your available stock totals and connect it to customer orders.
- Create a new account and enable both [Stock Account] and [Own Stock].
- Assign it as Default Stock Account for customers who are shipped from this warehouse.
- Enter Invoice and Delivery Addresses for logistics and documentation.
Use this setup when artists take stock on tour and return or settle after selling items at shows. The consignment workflow helps you track handouts, returns, and invoiced quantities.
- Create a new Artist account and enable [Stock Account].
- Set the Default Order Type to Consignment.
- After the tour, record returns and invoice the sold quantities for settlement.
These accounts represent your external distributors, shops, or digital partners. Their configuration depends on whether they are physical or digital.
- Physical Partners: Enable [Stock Account] if you manage shipments and stock per location.
- Digital Partners: Usually no stock tracking; leave [Stock Account] unchecked.
- Define pricing and label access in the CATALOGUE tab.
- Optional: Adjust Release Shifts or assign Custom Price Lists.
If you run your own webshop or label store, create a dedicated internal account to handle those transactions separately.
- Enable [Stock Account] to connect stock movements from your warehouse.
- Mark as [Main Account] if you want it highlighted in PRODUCT / STOCK overviews.
- Set a dedicated Pricelist for your retail prices.
- Use [Own Stock] if inventory is held and shipped directly by you.
